SPECIAL EVENT: Sunset Relaxation with Your Dog
**Cancelled due to chance of thunderstorms.**
ABOUT THE EVENT:
Over the past several months, we have been focusing on canine meditation and relaxation for our dogs. However, can our dogs truly unwind if we are not calm and relaxed?
Join us for this unique opportunity to experience a Zen-like state with your dog on top of a mountain while the sun sets. It doesn’t get any better than this, right?
A calm human is key to a calm dog. We will be joined by yoga instructor Cherie Bartlett of Nourish BodyMindSoul, for a sunset hike on Little Blue Job Mountain in Strafford, NH.
We will hike to the summit and then, to the backdrop of a glorious sunset, engage in gentle stretching, breath work, and mindfulness activities to create a deeper sense of connection with yourself and your dog.
Expect to take away:
- a deeper understanding of vagal tone;
- tools for self awareness;
- breathing exercises to reduce stress;
- a sense of well-being and ease.
This adventure is offered as a 4-part series over the summer. Join us for all four dates at a discount or choose the adventure you prefer.
The Sunset Relaxation with Your Dog series takes place on Sundays:
- July 16th from 7:30 – 9:30pm
- August 13th from 6:45 – 8:45pm
- September 10th from 6:00 – 8:00pm
- October 1st from 5:30 – 7:30pm
The hike up will take approximately 30 minutes. Please bring water, yoga mat, and flashlight/headlamp. Our program will run for 45-60 minutes on top of Blue Job and then we will hike back down the mountain.
IS THIS EVENT GOOD FOR REACTIVE DOGS?
This is a good event for reactive dogs. We do not anticipate many people on the mountain at this time of night. It should be quieter and there is plenty of room to step off the path in most places if approached by another person and their dog. We have plenty of room at the summit to spread out as well. If you have concerns or questions about if this event is right for your dog, please email woof@goldendognh.com for assistance.

ABOUT CHERIE BARTLETT
Cherie first began practicing yoga in 2008. Her doctor recommended yoga as a way of alleviating her aches and pains from her passion for running. Not convinced, she reluctantly went to her first class and quickly realized that her yoga practice would transform into a way of life for her and her community, both physically and spiritually.
Led with compassion, Cherie’s classes are a combination of creative sequencing, a spirit of playfulness and laughter to encourage individuality, compassion, self-love, and radical self-acceptance in her students. Her hope is that her students take what they learn on the mat, off the mat into their daily lives for an inner sense of peace and joyfulness.
Cherie’s intention is to make yoga accessible for all; to pass along the benefits yoga has gifted to her, just as her teachers and mentors did for herself.
Cherie, RYT200, is an independent yoga instructor who teaches classical and vinyasa yoga, as well as leads Yoga Nidra meditations. She also teaches at Nourish BodyMindSoul, a yoga and movement studio in Barrington New Hampshire.
