July Nature Walk w/Kelly Dwyer of Nature Education Opportunities

LIABILITY WAIVERS/RELEASE FORMS:
All participants MUST complete our General Liability Waiver, Covid-19 Waiver of Liability, and Video/Photograph Release Form prior to attending a walk. These can be easily accessed and electronically signed on our website: https://ittakesavillagenh.com/nh-dog-walking-club-forms/. If not completed prior to an event, you will be asked to complete at the event.

DIRECTIONS/PARKING:
Meet at the Hooksett Riverwalk trail head, 111 Merrimack St. in Hooksett, (the parking lot is located next to the Hooksett Dog Park).

COVID GUIDELINES:
We follow the guidelines suggested by the CDC and State of NH. If you are fully vaccinated, you do not have to wear a mask. We do encourage social distancing at all times however.

CLUB GUIDELINES:
Please familiarize yourself with the DOG WALKING CLUB GUIDELINES. These were established for everyone’s safety and well-being (humans and canines).

CANCELLATIONS:
Full refunds will be honored if cancellation received by 5pm on July 14th. Otherwise, no refund will be given unless canceled due to weather or covid.

If weather or covid conditions make gathering and walking unsafe, the event will be cancelled and announced in the Event section of the Facebook Group and on the Discussion page.

ABOUT THE EVENT:
This walk will be led by Kelly Dwyer, naturalist and owner of Nature Education Opportunities.

Meadows and other open spaces are ablaze with a riot of color, attracting a host of insects, performing the vital function of pollinating hundreds of plants, including many food items we enjoy!

Join us as we explore the beautiful habitats along the Merrimack River’s Riverwalk in Hooksett, using sweep nets and collection jars, delving into the following topics:

Relationships between insects and host plants and how this impacts us.
Insect life cycles- examples of dragonfly nymphs and exoskeletons will be available to examine.
Seeds and the role in various ecosystems-what will an abundance of seeds mean for animals this fall?
Gardening strategies to enhance pollinator health in your own yard.

There is also a great swimming spot for dogs at the end of the trail where we will stop to cool off.

**Dogs will be provided with a yummy frozen Kong to keep them busy at the observation stops on our nature walk. If you dog has any allergies, please make us aware of this ahead of time.**

The walk begins at 9am and lasts until about 11:00am ish.

In addition, participants will receive an entry towards our July giveaways (must sign in), which will be drawn on August 2nd.

ABOUT KELLY DWYER:
Kelly Dwyer, an award-winning environmental educator and certified NH elementary teacher, has been creating and delivering engaging programming for audiences of all ages for over 15 years.

As a certified wellness coach, Kelly also brings a deep understanding of the numerous benefits of connecting with the natural world to reduce stress, improve health and embrace a more mindful approach to life and learning.

An avid gardener and cook, she loves to spend time with her family, which includes her husband and two daughters.
