June Nature Walk w/Kelly Dwyer of Nature Education Opportunities

LIABILITY WAIVERS/RELEASE FORMS:
All participants MUST complete our General Liability Waiver, Covid-19 Waiver of Liability, and Video/Photograph Release Form prior to attending a walk. These can be easily accessed and electronically signed on our website: https://ittakesavillagenh.com/nh-dog-walking-club-forms/. If not completed prior to an event, you will be asked to complete at the event.

DIRECTIONS/PARKING:
Meet at the Depot Road Rockingham Rail Trail parking lot, Rte 27 to Langford Road, Take a right onto Depot Road and the lot is on the right.

COVID GUIDELINES:
Masks are required for ALL participants while gathered in the parking lot prior to the walk, and on the trail until social distancing can be achieved. Please also be prepared to mask up again at the end of the walk and anywhere on the trail where we may encounter groups of people.

CLUB GUIDELINES:
Please familiarize yourself with the DOG WALKING CLUB GUIDELINES (https://www.facebook.com/notes/nh-dog-walking-club/club-guidelines/738543557099263/). These were established for everyone’s safety and well-being (humans and canines).

CANCELLATIONS:
Full refunds will be honored if cancellation received by 5pm on June 23rd. Otherwise, no refund will be given unless canceled due to weather or covid.

If weather or covid conditions make gathering and walking unsafe, the event will be cancelled and announced in the Event section of the Facebook Group and on the Discussion page.

ABOUT THE EVENT:
This walk will be led by Kelly Dwyer, naturalist and owner of Nature Education Opportunities.

June brings graduations not only for humans but also for many young birds and mammals ready to leave the nest or den to begin their next chapter as young adults!

What skills and survival strategies are they learning as they prepare to navigate the challenges of various habitats in NH?

As we explore the beautiful section of the Candia/Raymond Rockingham Rail Trail, we will delve into the following:

The fascinating natural history of 7 mammal species often found near our homes.
Sensory exploration of the types and purpose of fur using animal pelts.
How to look for habitat clues of their presence, including calls and other “calling cards” they may leave behind.

**Dogs will be provided with a yummy frozen Kong to keep them busy at the birding stops on our nature walk. If you dog has any allergies, please make us aware of this ahead of time.**

Future walks with your pups may spotlight mammal signs along the trails you never noticed before!

The walk begins at 10am and lasts until about 12:00pm ish.

In addition, participants will receive an entry towards our June giveaways (must sign in), which will be drawn on July 1st.

ABOUT KELLY DWYER:
Kelly Dwyer, an award-winning environmental educator and certified NH elementary teacher, has been creating and delivering engaging programming for audiences of all ages for over 15 years.

As a certified wellness coach, Kelly also brings a deep understanding of the numerous benefits of connecting with the natural world to reduce stress, improve health and embrace a more mindful approach to life and learning.

An avid gardener and cook, she loves to spend time with her family, which includes her husband and two daughters.

COST:
To cover insurance and planning time that goes into our events, we charge a fee.
